Principal’s Note

Sacajawea is looking for adults to support early learning students within Developmental Preschool.

Positions are open immediately for Special Education Instructional Assistant substitutes for the remainder of this school year.

Hours closely match the school day and dates are accepted by you, making this a great job for a Sacajawea parent or community member.

Please contact Kara Golgert, Developmental Preschool Teacher, for more information @ 206-252-5550 or ksgolgert@seattleschools.org. The Seattle Schools website for employment opportunities is linked here https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/hr/careers/

Thank you letter from Ms. Charlene:

It’s my sixth year as Sac’s Volunteer Coordinator and I continue to be so impressed by what our “little school” can accomplish when we work together.

My favorite description of Sac is “We are small but we are MIGHTY”! We prove this when we look at the many events our amazing PTA organizes throughout the school year, the family support programs, classroom help, Gotcha parties and snacks, equity newsletters, advocacy, field trip chaperones, photo days, yearbook design, t-shirts, directory, community newsletter, social media, after school clubs and sports, lunchroom helpers, tutoring, cut and chat, school tours, Packs for Kids, book fairs, book swaps, grants, school supplies, landscaping, language translation, Educator Appreciation, and so much more to help our kids.

All of this happens because of you volunteers who give your time and talent and we are so grateful!

Thank you for your dedication to building a strong community for our kids! Your support makes a difference.

If you’re looking for ways to get involved, The SacPTA website has a list of volunteer opportunities. Or, send me a note, and we’ll find something that fits with your interests and schedule.

With Gratitude,

Ms. Charlene

Looking to volunteer in school? Get approved now! Volunteering at school or chaperoning field trips requires an SPS approval process. Apply early using the SPS volunteering page as it can take two weeks. Contact Charlene Shanahan (cyshanahan@seattleschools.org) for questions. We currently need help with Packs for Kids, lunchroom helper, and equity team.
