Principal Note

Greetings Sacajawea families,

I am excited to share some of the great leadership being shown by our amazing students.

The Student Council has been playing a leading role at our assemblies by doing things like sharing about Lunar New Year, Black History Month, and Black Lives Matter at School week. Student Council  also helped implement the return of birthday celebrations at assemblies for our students.

The Recess Crew is helping to keep our playgrounds and equipment in shape by collecting what is left behind after recesses. In addition, they are sharing the importance of bringing in equipment after using it with the whole school at assemblies. Many of our students showed their school spirit by dressing up in their favorite teams sports gear during our last spirit day.

We also have students serving as Library Helpers and Library Leaders doing things like checking in and returning books to the shelves and helping Mr. Harvey come up with ideas to build access and enthusiasm for reading among all our students. I am grateful to be part of school with so much student ownership.

I hope you all have a wonderful and rejuvenating Mid-Winter Break!

In partnership,

Barry Fisk (he/him)
