A Message from our principal

Hello Sacajawea families,

Our Sacajawea students taught us some important things at this weeks Monday assembly. We learned about National Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from September 15 through October 15.  We learned that this is a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures and extensive histories of the American Latino community.  National Hispanic Heritage Month also celebrates the independence days of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. On The Independence day of Mexico is celebrated, on September 16 and the Independence day of Chile on September 18. In addition we learned about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah celebrates the Jewish New Year and begins a ten day period of High Holidays and is celebrated by Jewish people from all over the world. These Jewish celebrations last ten days and end with Yom Kippur.

In partnership,

Barry Fisk
