Top Items & Upcoming Events

  • In-person kindergarten tours on Monday! Do you know any incoming Kindergarten families? Please let them know of our upcoming tour on January 29th from 8:05-9:05 am. Families will attend the Monday morning assembly, have a campus tour, and do Q&A with Principal Fisk. Please RSVP to Charlene Shanahan Cyshanahan@seattleschools.org.
  • Coffee With Our Principal On Wed, February 7th at 8:05 am (after the first bell) please join Mr. Fisk for coffee and pastries. This is an opportunity to get to know our principal better and ask questions in a more casual setting. Our goal is for these coffee and chat sessions to take place quarterly, so if you can’t make the February date, be on the lookout for future coffee and chat events.
  • Cut and Chat – Thursday, February 8th 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Looking for a way to help teachers and connect with other parents in our community?  Join us for Cut and Chat – a monthly meeting in the cafeteria to help with projects like laminating, making copies, organizing materials! All volunteers must have their online volunteer applications up to date and background checks approved. Please RSVP to Volunteer Coordinator, Charlene Shanahan cyshanahan@seattleschools.org
  • Budget Committee volunteers needed. The PTA’s Budget Committee will begin meeting in February. If you would like to be a part of this year’s Budget Committee or would like to present ideas to the Budget Committee to consider, please reach out to jessi@sacpta.org
  • Auction Committee volunteers needed. The PTA will be hosting a silent auction again this April, and we need help with item procurement, event planning, and so much more! Can you help? Please reach out to PTA Fundraising Chair, Jessi Friedrichs: jessi@sacpta.org.
  • Looking to volunteer in school? Get approved now! Volunteering at school or chaperoning field trips requires an SPS approval process. Apply early using the SPS volunteering page as it can take two weeks. Contact Charlene Shanahan cyshanahan@seattleschools.org for questions. We currently need help with Packs for Kids, lunchroom helper, and equity team.

PTA Updates

Sacajawea Ultimate

Is your 3rd-5th grader interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee this spring? Ultimate it’s a fun, fast-paced, no-contact team sport, and we’re looking to see if there’s enough interest to form two Sacajawea teams.

Henry’s dad, Darrick, has offered to coach 4th/5th grade, and Nora’s dad, Jon, has offered to coach 3rd grade. We’d also love to have at least one more assistant coach or co-coach for each team!

If your kid is interested in playing, you are interested in helping out with a team, or you just have any questions, please contact Darrick darrickmeneken@yahoo.com and Jon jbrenner@gmail.com.
