PTA Featured Volunteer Opportunities for 2024/25 School Year

  • School Supplies Team Member – Enjoy shopping online? Looking for good deals? Making teachers’ work a little easier? The PTA is currently planning to procure classroom supplies for the 2024/25 school year to save families time, energy, and money and to ensure teachers have the supplies they need.
  • Grants Team Co-Chair – In this role, you will work with teachers and principal to establish wish lists, seek out new grants to support these initiatives, and coordinate our grants team efforts via email or meetings.
  • Treasurer – Are you or someone you know interested in the budget, how we fundraise and what programs we support? As the PTA Treasurer you’ll learn how to set a budget, manage receipts, sign checks, prepare a monthly report, reconcile bank statements and file annual returns. No bookkeeping or accounting experience necessary. Basic Excel skills and experience with an online accounting or finance application are helpful. Training is available during transition from current Treasurer and on-going support from other board members.
  • PTA Co-Chair – In this role you will help set the agenda for each monthly PTA meeting, coordinate with our principal on school-related issues, support the treasurer in the 2024/2025 budget planning, and, most importantly, offer a friendly, welcoming presence for all of our Sacajawea families. The co-chair is a two-year commitment. Any new chair appointed is partnered with the outgoing co-chair (this year it is Heather Platisha), so you will always have support as you get comfortable in the role. This is a great way to get more connected to our community and really see our PTA’s efforts come to life. If you have any questions, please reach out to Heather Platisha at heatherbthyname79@gmail.com
