FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hello Sacajawea families,

Each spring, Seattle Public Schools allocates our budget based on projected enrollment. A weighted staffing formula using our current numbers determines the staffing and discretionary funds for the 2025–26 school year, using 2024–25 enrollment as its basis.

Sacajawea’s 2024–25 budget provided about $113,000 for discretionary decisions—roughly $46,000 in flexible funds and $67,000 from state grants earmarked for reading and math intervention, typically used for our Reading Specialist. Please note this excludes PTA-covered items and other grant funds. These resources help us enhance our programs and support our students.

We value your input as we plan next year’s budget. Your feedback is essential to ensuring our budget meets our community’s needs. Please complete this survey by Friday, February 28.
