Sacajawea Library
Dear Sacajawea Parents and Guardians,
Our library is up and running during this most unusual school year.
The important thing you need to know is students receive their library materials during our twice a month Distribution Days. The next is March 4 and March 5 from 8:15 to 3:15. Library materials will be on tables at the west entrance to the school.
Students receive instruction during weekly online library lessons on using our library catalog, known as Destiny Discover, to place holds on books. They receive their books at the next scheduled Distribution Day.
Currently students in grades 3 thru 5 are mostly proficient at placing holds, grade 2 students are learning but in some cases need parent support and students in grade 1 and kindergarten need parent support to place holds.
If you are the parent of a kindergartner, 1st or 2nd grade student please consider watching the video below on How to Place Holds Using Destiny Discover and then helping your student place holds on library books.
Please use your student’s device and username/password to place holds. For the Destiny Discover system the username is the same as their standard username but without ‘@seattleschools.org.’ For instance, my username is 1jrharvey. The password is MMDD of their birthday.
Please contact me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Sean Harvey
