Our wonderful Sac PTA has created a web page with resources available: sacpta.org/closure-resources

Right now we are in need of donations to maintain our Packs for Kids Program and providing families with food and household items during the closure.  If your family could use assistance, please contact Charlene Shanahan cyshanahan@seattleschools.org

    Sign up to donate here:

From Principal Friesen's March 13th Letter:

    Dear Sacajawea Staff and Families,

Many of you have been asking how you can help during this time.  I appreciate all the caring and concern our community members have for each other. I am sure that throughout this time, many of us will find ourselves in a position to provide and/or receive help. Charlene Shanahan, our volunteer coordinator, has offered to be the point of contact for people needing or willing to provide assistance.  Her email is cyshanahan@seattleschools.org

    • Sacajawea has a small fund that we can use to help with things like a late utility payment, a pair of shoes or getting a child’s glasses fixed. Families can connect with Charlene or me for these types of needs.

    Learning Materials

The district will soon be giving direction to staff regarding student learning during this time of school closure and what we’ll do about report cards.  In the meantime, we’ll be connecting by email as needed.  I’ve asked Mr. Hart and Mr. Bowman, our custodians, to leave the learning materials teachers have already created on the front porch at Sacajawea for a few more days. Families, if you haven’t picked up your child’s packet yet, please do!

Thanks, everyone, for your pitch-in attitude during this time!

    You’re in my thoughts!

    Rachel Friesen, Principal
